Description

Under this study, the Vertical Shaft Brick Kiln (VSBK) facilities (firing ovens in the brick industry) are verified and the corresponding data are collected, then their quality is audited. To achieve a basis for making decisions, some plants are examined with old technologies and the new VSBK technology is compared with these old technologies. The study is assessing whether a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) procedure, i.e., CO2 reduction certification with a Program of Activities (PoA) at the UNFCCC would be worthwhile. It would also be valid to find out why new technologies and the use of hollow bricks are encountering so much resistance.
