Swiss Contribution

Up Development’s mission is to promote sustainable living standards. The association aims to facilitate regenerative development through the establishment of competence centres for professional education, social entrepreneurship and the circular economy. Other Swiss partners include Biomasse Suisse, ZHAW Wädenswil and F_M Zurich.

Description

As part of the project, a circular approach to processing palm oil fruits is being implemented, involving the production of palm oil, soap, thermal energy, biogas and compost.

The project development is based on an innovative business model in the field of social entrepreneurship, with profits being reinvested to strengthen the company, promote scalability and improve the economic situation of local farmers. This creates sustainable development opportunities for the entire region.

Results

The infrastructure has been completed, and the first training module has been successfully concluded. The project is technically, organizationally, and operationally ready to commence regular production activities. The next steps include data collection, quality assurance, and market launch. The project team in Ghana is capable of independently operating and further developing complex systems. A key milestone towards establishing an autonomous, ecologically oriented enterprise.
