The Swiss partner has broad experience in the field of grid connected PV systems and education.

Description

The climatic conditions of Nepal are ideal for solar energy technology. Stand alone PV plants are being used in remote areas accordingly. However, grid connected systems are not yet considered a real option, even though the Nepalese power supply system is suffering from lack of production. Utilizing the energy production potential of grid connected PV plants would make the national power supply system more diversified and independent as well as ecologically and economically more sustainable.

Therefore, a feasibility study shall be conducted assessing the real development potential of grid connected PV plants. The study shall be elaborated in close collaboration with local partners allowing at the same time to remove possible institutional and technical barriers and to strengthen the local partners through knowledge exchange and educational programs.
