EBP Schweiz AG has proven long-term experience in the renewable energy and energy efficiency fields within the building sector. Its experience in the implementation of Net Zero Energy buildings in Switzerland will contribute to accelerating the transition towards more sustainable building norms in Colombia.
Description
The Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) is a public institution offering technical education and training in Colombia. As the owner and operator of many buildings throughout the country, SENA has the responsibility to follow public policies on energy efficiency. The pilot-project will carry technical analyses in three SENA centers to establish a national retrofitting protocol. An energy and systems laboratory is planned to be implemented in Yambo. Finally, the whole project shall be integrated in workshops and syllabus to promote the Net Zero standards to the SENA students.
Results
The first measurements were carried out in two pilot classrooms. Three strategies are to be tested to improve thermal comfort inside buildings. Students in technical subjects are also working on the project to gain practical experience.
