Description

In a first project phase in 2011 which included the local collectors’ production, already 10 solar hot water systems could be installed within the context of training workshops, accompanied by extensive public relations promotional work.

This second project aims at promoting solar thermal energy as an alternative to the current primary energy source of lignite which has a high sulphur content. This second project phase aims at enhanced market support through the introduction of solar hot water systems in the low price range, with investment costs below EUR 1,000 per unit. Thus, these systems, even without funding are affordable.

Compelling and cost-effective systems are to be selected along with the solar energy systems provider and its partner companies. To this end, a funding model shall be elaborated on together with 25 solar hot water systems being implemented by local installation companies. Additionally, an extensive public relations promotion shall support the project and a solar energy curriculum shall be prepared in the Tuzla canton’s technical schools.
