Renewable Energy, Energy and Resource Efficiency Promotion
in International Cooperation
Dear Madam/Sir,
We are delighted to present the second Newsletter of 2025 from the REPIC Platform. This newsletter once again shares a great deal of news and developments from our network. At present, the need for sustainable solutions is greater than ever. At the same time, our partners and projects around the world are committed to shaping a more promising future.
In this context, we would like to highlight our engagement in Ukraine. In view of the considerable challenges in the country REPIC has significantly adjusted its funding conditions in support of Ukrainian projects. This enables us to contribute to reconstruction and the improvement of living conditions, thereby providing targeted support to Swiss companies and their Ukrainian partners. Further details on these attractive financing terms are available in the “REPIC News”.
We are also pleased to inform you of the continuous development of our submission process, and to announce the first facts of the REPIC Annual Event 2025. As usual, we are also introducing you to our thrilling new, ongoing, and completed projects which illustrate the diversity and the global impact of our work.
We hope you enjoy reading it, and we are looking forward to further collaboration and to hear about your innovative ideas!

Adjusted funding conditions: Stronger Engagement in the reconstruction in Ukraine
Switzerland has been intensifying its engagement for the sustainable reconstruction of Ukraine. The objective is to facilitate the exchange of Swiss expertise and innovative, high-quality products with Ukraine. In order to meet the increasing demand and exceptional challenges, the funding conditions were officially adapted for Ukrainian projects:
- Increased financing quotas: REPIC support for projects in the Ukraine covering up to 70% of the cost of the project (previous maximum of 50%).
- Higher limit of subsidies: for pilot projects in Ukraine, the subsidy may be increased to a maximum CHF 300’000 (up from CHF 150’000). For roll-out projects it rises to CHF 750’000 (currently CHF 500’000).
These measures are intended to support Swiss companies and their Ukrainian partners by implementing innovative and sustainable projects in the country despite the increased risks. REPIC is convinced that these adjustments have the potential to substantially contribute to the reconstruction and improvement of living conditions in Ukraine.
The submission process is evolving!
As of the beginning of March submission and evaluation process is ongoing. This means that you can submit your project outline to REPIC at any time. This flexible process allows a more efficient work and provides greater autonomy planning your submissions. Detailed information on the submission procedure is available online on our website.
REPIC Annual Event 2025
We are pleased to invite you to the REPIC annual Event. This will take place on 27th November 2025 from 9:15am to 4pm at the Eventforum in Bern and offers an excellent opportunity for exchange, for networking and to deepen your knowledge of current developments and successful projects in our network. New Projects
In Kyrgyzstan 9’000 tons of unused sheep’s wool are incinerated. ZHAW has be working in collaboration with company Tumar to develop Insulation materials and felt facades inspired by traditional yurts. The project includes adjustment of the production chain, a construction of 250-square-metre pilot building, the certification of the new building elements, and training for over 80 local professionals. Goals: 5’000 tons/year of recycled wool, 88 new workplaces, and to minimise reliance on Russian building materials.
Based on award-winning 730 kWp Swiss lighthouse project with Hugelshofer Transport AG, Ampere Dynamic has been developing Kosovo’s first PV truck port plant at Kosmonte Foods (200 kWp Pilot plan, 260’000 kWh/year). The Peak Valley Joint Venture may provide Know-how transfer to the local technicians. Kosmonte will be able to charge its 150 fleet-vehicle and to develop a multiplication strategy. With 247 tons of CO₂ savings annually, this innovation is aligned to Kosovo’s energy strategy 2022-2031.
On going projects
SUSTAIN Switzerland’s AQUASMART REPIC project aims to build a smart, solar-powered fish farm. Despite initial delays, rammed earth buildings, the AQUASMART platform and tilapia pilot production has been successfully implemented. Next steps: full solar system implementation, capacity expansion and further financing.
The REPIC project with Soft Power in Cameroon has been optimising and industrialising a clean hydrogen cooker prototype. The result is a user-friendly solution with a high degree of efficiency. Next steps: local production and customer testing for over 1,000 hours to ensure market readiness.
Recently completed projects
The solar-powered mushroom farm in Tanzania has been successfully completed and has already produced 1.500 kg of mushrooms, with the energy requirement almost completely covered by the photovoltaic system. This pilot project impressively demonstrates the potential of decentralized energy supply and saves around 5,5 tons of CO₂ emissions annually. Future expansions via a franchise model and several financing models are already being planned.
In addition to the examples presented above, you will find an account of all our past and ongoing projects on our website: Repic – Portfolio.
