Swiss Contribution
A great deal of specialized know-how and experience has been gained from Switzerland’s successful Minergie certifications over the last 20 years. The Minergie Association is leading this project and is responsible for setting up the Chilean Minergie Organization. Binz Energie am Bau GmbH and EBP are involved in the processing tasks and are contributing Swiss expertise.
Description
Chilean buildings generally are low in energy efficiency and, at the same time, have high CO2 emissions. New technologies in Chile are not as extensive as in Switzerland, however, they are on the rise. Minergie is a proven Swiss construction standard for new and modernized buildings. Its advantages, such as simplicity, communicability, combining with comfort, are also showing promise in Chile. Once the Minergie standard has been adapted to Chilean conditions, a new self-supporting, non-profit business model for “Minergie Chile” will be developed. A Chilean network of Minergie experts will then be set up to ensure the replication of pilot projects. Energy efficiency and the reduction of fossil fuels are thus combined for the middle class to benefit from buildings’ increased value retention and comfort.
