The SoWaDis system was developed by the Institute for Solar Technology SPF at “Hochschule für Technik Rapperswil”.
Description
SoWaDis (Solar Water Disinfection) is a solar thermal system for disinfection of drinking water. It was developed at the Institute for Solar Technology SPF of the Hochschule für Technik Rapperswil. In the frame of the pilot project, 10 water kiosks shall be built as compound of installations in the rural area of Southern Bangladesh. Thus, a sustainable operating system for this compound of installations („Cluster“) will be tested and implemented. The technical functionality of the water treatment using SoWaDis and social acceptance have already been investigated. Now, the technology shall be applied for the first time as compound of installations with a sustainable operation and maintenance concept. These water kiosks should be operated financially sustainable and under own responsibility by local user communities.
