Description |
The Korean Export Processing Zone (= KEPZ) is one of the first private Export Processing Zones (= EPZ) in Bangladesh. Bangladesh has been suffering for years under massive problems in energy production, influencing as well industrial development of KEPZ. The “KEPZ”-feasibility study is therefore analysing the potential of renewable energies, focussing on technical and economic viable „best practice“ energy solutions in the field of “biomass”, “solar” and “hydro”, as well as identifying practicable energy efficiency measures to optimise the energy and material flows within the planned “KEPZ shoe production”. The “KEPZ”-findings will be extrapolated to other industrial facilities in Bangladesh, especially to the governmental EPZs in Dhaka (= DEPZ) and Chittagong (= CEPZ). Directive guidelines will be synthesized to enhance the use of renewable energies and energy efficiency in Bangladesh. |
