The project's goal is to establish an electrical and heat production plant near Ross-Béthio, in the St. Louis region of Senegal thruogh the processing of typha reed (an intrusive plant of the Senegal River Delta) and rice husk (an agro-industrial biomass residue)
Sales of energy, in particular electrical energy, will be achieved under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Senelec (the Senegal national electric utility) so that the distribution of electricity can be made to their national network.
Heat sales will be done through private contracts drawn up with local partners.
Other by-products like ashes produced through gasification of rice husk will be sold as raw material on the worldwide market for silicates. Ashes from typha will be used for the local market as fertilizer.
The project will also be able to benefit from Climate Change carbon emissions reduction laws (green CO2 certificates and CO2 credits) that will be negotiated with organizations in charge of certifying such documents.
