Description	Contact was made with a local Malaysian UNDP-GEF office and further developed with Malaysian officials following Encolo's presentation in 2001 on the occasion of SECO supported Workshops for the Promotion of Renewable Energy in ASEAN countries. On this basis, a GEF PDF-B Project on building integrated photovoltaics was established and implemented. During the PDF-B project phase, a “full GEF project” was prepared in conjunction with Enecolo's participation.

Swiss Contribution	Swiss expertise in the area of building integrated photovotaics is a key factor in the entire first GEF project used in a grid connected photovoltaic power system.  The project is founded on an excellent local partnership.

Project State	The PDF-B Phase is completed, a "full project“ was granted by the GEF Council in May 2004 ; Project Volume 25 Mio. USD, GEF Contribution 4.8 Mio. USD. Project implementation started in 2005.
